I find myself in a bit of a conundrum. I financed a Mazda CX-5 that included a new grad discount because my husband graduated recently and was with me when I signed the original purchase and sale document. What I failed to ask at the time was if he needed to be a co-applicant on the financing forms. The salesman told me that because I'm in grad school that would qualify me and he didn't ask about my graduation date.

The financing went through with the discount, but now I've been asked to provide proof of graduation is within 6 months (which it will not be). $500 is $500, so I'd rather just reapply with my husband as a cosigner. Are there alternative options that I can ask about to rectify the situation for both the dealership and me?
